Thermostats play a vital role in engine management. Thermostats can fail in 2 possible manners; open or close position. If stuck open, the engine's heater will operate at reduced efficiency for an extended period of time or if stuck shut, will cause your cars engine to overheat leading to costly repairs or ultimately “complete engine failure”.

The Dayco thermostats amazing heat sensing power pill controls coolant flow from the radiator when the engine is cold to reach optimum operating temperature quickly. It then allows coolant to circulate through the engine when operating temperature is reached to create the perfect temperature controlled engine environment.

Lower Temperature Thermostats:

Thermostats that are engineered to open at lower temperatures are suited for more hostile environments and performance builds. If you're located in area that is exposed to constant hot weather, these thermostats will allow coolant to begin flowing through the engine sooner, keeping it cooler for longer. As for performance engines, given the amount of heat they generate, a cooler thermostat will prolong heat soak which equates to higher horsepower gains. especially handy when sitting in the line at the drag-strip. Even greater results are possible if the fan enable temps are adjusted accordingly.
