MACE ENGINEERING GROUP - WHERE PERFORMANCE MEETS RELIABILITY!
Exclusive to MACE Engineering, our design-registered 6.35mm (1/4") manifold insulator to suit Ford Barra 220 and 230 V8 engines.
Key benefits:
What are manifold insulators and what do they do?
Manifold insulators are a thermal insulating spacer that mounts between your upper and lower intake manifold. Made from a heat blocking composite, our manifold insulators will increase power from your engine by keeping the intake cooler, and increase low end torque by increasing runner length.
But how do manifold insulators keep the intake manifold cooler?
Given our manifold insulators are made from a composite material with a thermal conductivity of 0.29 W/m*K as opposed to aluminium, which has a thermal conductivity of 150 W/m*K; The difference works out to be that aluminium conducts heat 500 times higher than our composite material!
Also, with gaskets often made out of steel (20 W/m*K thermal conductivity), placed between the upper and lower manifolds, replacing a .5mm gasket with a 6.35mm insulator will conduct an amazing 688 times less heat (yes, that's over 70,000% reduction!). What this basically means is that it becomes very difficult for the engine to heat up the manifold, which ultimately means more power for extended periods (i.e. considerably fewer heat soak issues)!
Our composite material also exhibits high stiffness and compressive strength, can withstand temperatures of up to nearly 150 degrees celcius, and has a thermal expansion coefficient very similar to aluminium to increase sealing capabilities. In addition, the spacer can also withstand boosted conditions with ease.

What about Installation?
Installation is straight forward, requiring only the removal of your inlet manifold to install the manifold insulators. We currently don't have any fitting instructions for these insulators given the simplicity of the install.
