What are manifold insulators and what do they do?

Manifold insulators are a thermal insulating spacer that mount between your engine block and intake manifold. Made from a heat blocking composite, our manifold insulators will increase power from your engine by keeping the intake cooler and increase low end torque by increasing runner length.

But how do manifold insulators keep the intake manifold cooler?

Given our manifold insulators are made from a composite material with a thermal conductivity of 0.29 W/m*K as opposed to aluminium, which has a thermal conductivity of 150 W/m*K; the difference works out to be that aluminium conducts heat 500 times higher than our composite material!

Also, with gaskets often made out of steel (thermal conductivity of 20 W/m-K) placed between the upper and lower manifolds being 0.5mm thick, replacing them with a 12mm manifold insulator will conduct an amazing 1655 times less heat.

Our composite material also exhibits high stiffness and compressive strength, can withstand temperatures up to nearly 150°C, and has a thermal expansion coefficient very similar to aluminium to increase sealing capabilities. In addition, the spacer can also withstand boosted conditions with ease.

This Mace Torque Lock limited slip differential (LSD) uses a sophisticated design to provide a quiet, automatic splitting of torque. It performs like an open differential under normal driving conditions, automatically transferring torque to the wheel with better traction when ground conditions warrant.

The advantage of the limited-slip differential design is apparent when comparing it to the standard or "open" diff. In vehicles with this older style of diff when one wheel began to slip or lose contact with the ground the slipping or non-contacting wheel would still receive the majority of the power whilst the contacting wheel remains stationary with the ground.

This issue is completely resolved with the Torque Lock LSD. Harnessing a similar configuration to the Harrop and Eaton Truetracs, the automatic torque biasing design makes it the perfect limited slip differential upgrade for any enthusiast that will be using their vehicle for either straight-line drag, circuit, off-road or tough street work.

This main cap girdle is designed to reduce "capwalk", stop block web flexing and eliminate cracking of the main caps/block webs; this is achieved by boxing in the main caps. Our light weight girdle evenly distributes load and dampens harmonics by bolting the main cap studs together to create a super strong rectangular cage. The brace nearly doubles the main web support area in the engine. Securing the loose end of the main studs provides stability unequalled even by a 4-bolt mains set up.

In addition, due to the close proximity of the main stud girdle to the crankshaft and rods it also aids in stripping oil off of the crank, which in itself yields a net gain in HP.
Fabricated from 10mm thick high strength steel, these girdles are a must for high rpm/high horsepower applications where block rigidity is critical.
