Custom Camshaft Grinds

At Mace Engineering we offer custom billet camshafts grinds to suit any performance application. From speedway to heavily modified dragsters we can build the correct camshaft to suit your application. Please be aware that for street driven vehicles we recommend our tried and tested 210/210 portfolio. WHY

If you think you've gone as far as you can with bolt-on performance parts or are even rebuilding your late model Alloytec V6, it's time to consider the benefits of our eagerly anticipated high-performance camshafts. Once tuned, not only will our cam package provide instant power gains and great sound but it will open the door to further upgrades enabling you to extract more power from potential modifications.

WHAT

We have developed a series of high-performance billet camshafts for your Holden V6 Alloytec engine. Designed to deliver real-world horsepower and torque gains, our Alloytec cams won't compromise the drivability of your vehicle, like some cams can.

You are provided with four brand new billet camshafts, so there is no need for change-over or deposit and we have packages to suit every model and transmission. Please note that in order to make full use of these cams, a custom tune is required.

These cams have been designed to be used with the standard valve springs and engine components, so you are not required to replace any other engine components. However depending on your application and Camshaft specifications you may need to replace these with our heavy duty spring and retainer package.

HOW

The camshaft is one of the most vital components inside your engine, controlling when and how the intake and exhaust valves open and close inside your cylinder heads directly affecting not only how much power you make, but where in the rev range it does it.

By altering key attributes to camshaft design we've been able to offer a series of camshafts that provide maximum drivability and economy.

These camshafts are also available for other vehicle makes including the Chevrolet Camaro V6, Pontiac G8, Saturn 3.6l & other High Feature V6’s.

This is a premium replacement ignition coil designed to meet and exceed OEM specifications when it comes to performance and durability. Each ignition coil has been checked and tested so you can be assured of quality fitment every time. This suits a range of Commodores and similar platforms fitted with the Alloytec 3.6L V6 engine.

These coils come with a 3 year/100,000km parts only warranty.

This is a standard replacement drive belt manufactured using EDPM rubber compound that resists cracking and offers increased durability over belts made from neoprene. This is replacement for a range of Holden vehicles fitted with V6 engines including LY7 and LE0.

These V6 engines are renowned for defective timing chains. That dreaded rattle at idle or a random check engine light could be the tell-tale signs that the factory chains have stretched. Prolonging the replacement of these chains could potentially lead to severe engine damage including bent valves, damaged pistons or worst case, an engine replacement. 

Here at Mace Engineering we're dedicated to providing exceptional service and quality parts, therefore we have used our sought after engineering expertise to develop a kit using components of high calibre. To ensure that our customers are receiving the most reliable timing chain kit in the market, these aftermarket kits are manufactured by Schaeffler Automotive in Germany, a renowned brand (INA) for supplying Genuine kits. These kits possess enhanced durability and strength characteristics to comfortably take the shock loading of everyday driving while the superior guides and tensioners firmly hold them in place.

These kits are backed up by an industry leading 3 year/100,000km product replacement and 1 year labor cost warranties (only applicable to kits that are inclusive of gears). Worn out gears will considerably reduce the life of the chains, therefore we only offer a 12-month/20,000km product replacement warranty to kits without idler gears.

There may be a discrepancy for vehicles built on dates that borderline the change-over of the design of the timing chain. We cannot guarantee what kit you require if this applies to your vehicle. You can confirm by removing one of the cam covers and inspecting the chains that run over the cam gears.

Caution:

Once assembled, the timing chain tensioners need to be fully released to maintain adequate tension. Simply pulling the pins is not enough. All tensioners must be pressed in by hand for the internal mechanism to fully pop out and operate effectively. Following this, the motor is to be rotated by hand one full revolution in a clockwise direction to ensure all parts have been fitted correctly. Failing to follow these steps will result in a noisy timing chain upon start up and will require the motor to be disassembled again to access the tensioners.

This timing service kit is ideal for when having to replace the infamous timing chains found on late model vehicles fitted with the Alloytec V6. As soon as these gaskets are disturbed, which is inevitable during disassembly, their sealing properties basically become ineffective. This would lead to further issues if they were to be re-used. Replacing them with our high quality kit will ensure trouble-free motoring and peace of mind for all.
